From June 11 to 13, members of East European Law Research Center, Editor-in-Chief of AJEE Prof. Iryna Izarova, AJEE Section Editor Prof.Ganna Kharlamova, and AJEE Managing Editor Mag. Yuliia Hartman, attended a conference organized by the ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY PRESSES INC in Montreal, Canada. The conference featured many panels addressing the most pressing issues in academic publishing.

Members of our delegation, specifically Prof. Izarova and Prof. Kharlamova, were speakers on the panel "Scholarly Publishing in a War Zone: Overview of Ukraine," which was graciously moderated by Dr. Frances Pinter. Representatives of Ukrainian scholarly publishing discussed Ukraine's experience in maintaining publishing activities during the war, the challenges faced by the Ukrainian publishing community, their strategies to overcome these challenges, the needs of Ukrainian academic publishing, and the emerging opportunities.

More than 50 conference participants attended this panel, reflecting the heightened interest and engagement of the international community. Following the panel, a productive discussion allowed for the exchange of experiences and insights on best practices in the field.

We are sincerely grateful to the Association for the invitation, the interest in Ukrainian editors, and the opportunity to share our experiences with the world!

This participation underscores the East European Law Research Center’s significant potential in advancing academic publishing and fostering international cooperation, demonstrating its capacity to address global challenges and contribute to scholarly discourse on a worldwide scale.
